North American GeoGebra Journal

The North American GeoGebra Journal (NAGJ) is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic publication dedicated to the innovative use of GeoGebra in mathematics education.

The journal publishes articles that explore the integration of GeoGebra in teaching, learning, curriculum development, and research across grades K–16 (kindergarten through undergraduate education).

Mission

The mission of NAGJ is to provide educators and researchers with a venue for sharing high-quality work involving dynamic mathematics, technology-enhanced learning, and innovative approaches to mathematics education.

Peer review

From its founding in 2012 until 2026, NAGJ operated as a double-blind peer-reviewed journal: the identities of authors and reviewers were concealed from one another throughout the review process.

From 1 September 2026, NAGJ is switching to open peer review. Reviews are conducted openly on GitHub. Reviewers are named and credited for their work, the review conversation is public and permanent, and each published article links to its own review record.

The change accompanies the journal’s move from Miami University to the University of Southern Maine. Refereeing is scholarly labor, and we think it should be visible and creditable; open review also lets a reader see how a paper’s argument was tested, rather than only that it passed.

Articles published before this date were reviewed under the double-blind model, and no review records exist for them.

Reviewers and editorial board

We are actively recruiting reviewers and editorial board members across dynamic geometry, linear algebra, statistics education, teacher preparation, and computational tools for mathematics teaching. If you would like to take part, contact the editor with your areas of interest and the software you work with.

The journal continues the tradition of the original GeoGebra journal collection and is transitioning to a modern GitHub-based publishing workflow.
